Anita Langdon of Jackson, and Russell and Shanna Cook of Martin are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children, Karen Christine Langdon and Matthew Russell Cook.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Dr. Scott Langdon and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin Boehms, Mrs. James Langdon and the late Dr. James Langdon, all of Jackson.
Miss Langdon is a graduate of Madison Academic Magnet High School in Jackson, and will receive a bachelor of music degree, concentration in music education, from the University of Tennessee at Martin in May 2010. She currently serves as choir director at First United Methodist Church in Dresden.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gilliam and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Cook.
Cook graduated valedictorian of Westview High School in 2005 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in communications and a bachelor of science in geosciences with concentration in geography at University of Tennessee at Martin commencement services on May 9, 2009. He is employed at UTM in the Instructional Technology Center.
The couple will exchange vows at 3:30 p.m., on May 30, at Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson. Music will begin at 3 p.m. A reception will be held at the Carnegie Center immediately following the ceremony. Friends of the couple are invited to attend.
After a honeymoon in Central America, the couple will reside in Martin.wcp 5-21
