Dorothy Sanders, 64, of Hickman, Ky., died 12:21 a.m. May 15, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.

Services will be noon Tuesday at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Hickman, with the Rev. Steven Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.

Strong Funeral Home in Hickman is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 20, 1944, in Marion, Ark., daughter of Elvester McFarland of Hickman and the late Walter Berry. She was a member of Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and was the widow of Willie James Sanders.

Survivors also include her stepfather, Willie Edward McFarland of Hickman; her son, Harold Sanders of Woodbridge, Va.; her daughter, Kendra (Sanders) Wilson of Murray, Ky.; five brothers, Willie James McFarland of Hickman, George McFarland of South Fulton, Detroy McFarland of Chicago, Curtis McFarland of Fulton and Jerry McFarland of Lawrenceville, Ga.; seven sisters, Josephine Warren of Hickman, Jenette Martin and Cathaleen McFarland, both of Paducah, Ky., Vivian McFarland of Fulton, Ethel Sherill of Dalton, Ill., Stella Browning of Union City and Brenda Talbert of Merriville, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
