Miss Quinton, Britton to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Sarah Elizabeth Quinton of Union City and Josiah James Britton of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Estherville, Iowa, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Johnny and Mary Jane (Elam) Quinton of Union City. Her grandparents are Eula Mae Elam, the late Harley Quinton Sr., the late Marcella Quinton and the late Elbert Elam, all of Union City.
She is a 2001 graduate of Union City High School and graduated from Union University in Jackson in 2005 with a degree in intercultural studies/global perspectives. She earned a master’s degree in advanced secondary education/teaching in May 2008 from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
She is a member of the Union City Civitan Club; was a participant of the Middle Eastern Studies Program located in Cairo, Egypt; is a member of Union University Alumni; was a Dean’s List member; and was the Biltmore’s Who’s Who. She teaches reading, language and English to eighth- and ninth-graders at South Fulton Middle/High School.
The groom-elect is the son Steve and Kim Britton of Estherville. He is the grandson of Erma Britton and the late Marrian Britton of Sailor Springs, Ill., and Gerald and Janet Barrett of Effingham, Ill.
He graduated in 2004, having been home-schooled and earning honor graduate status of his A school class.
He is a petty officer 3rd class in the United States Coast Guard in Pensacola.
The couple will wed at 5:30 p.m. July 24 at Portofino Beach in Pensacola. Music will begin at 5.
A reception will immediately follow the wedding ceremony at St. Anne’s Reception Hall in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
A second reception will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at The Lindell in Martin.
All friends and family are invited to attend.
