A longtime Fulton County, Ky., farmer died Tuesday after being kicked by a horse.

Doyle Wayne George was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City following an accident that occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday at his farm on State Line Road, just east of the Hickman Highway, according to Fulton County Sheriff Bobby Hopper.

George apparently was alone in a pen with a couple of breeding horses when one of the animals kicked him in the head, Hopper said.

“He had raised horses forever,” Hopper said.

George was transported by ambulance to the local hospital following the accident, which was investigated by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.
