CELEBRATE BEATLES’ “ALL WE NEED IS LOVE” AT PLAYHOUSE

The Cumberland County Playhouse, in Crossville, TN, sets the music of the Beatles into song and dance in ALL WE NEED IS LOVE, a performance of the Triple Threat Dance & Theater Education Program, students and faculty, from April 30th through May 2nd on the Playhouse Mainstage. The production is sponsored by CCP’s Education Sponsor, Hughes Real Estate Services.

 

Eldar Valiev, Dance Director and Nicole Begue, Director of Education, create this production, with Playhouse professional company and faculty choreographers Lilia Valieva, Jennifer Austin, Ashley Austin, Michele Colvin, Michael Ruff, Leila Nelson, with musical staging by Weslie Webster and Anne Staler. Junior faculty Aven Chadwell, Sara Nelson and Katie Green also stage numbers with their students. Directors Valiev and Begue hold advanced degrees. Valiev is a graduate of Russia’s famed

Vaganova Academy of the Kirov Ballet and Begue holds a Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee’s Opera Program.

 

ALL WE NEED IS LOVE is a dance & musical theater celebration of love, the ‘60’s, and The  Beatles, with students and faculty from 11 counties including Cumberland, Putnam, Fentress, Overton, Morgan, Bledsoe, White, Van Buren, Loudon, Knox and Roane. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $17 for Seniors, $16 for Groups (15 or more Adults/Seniors), and $10 for Kids/Students.

 

CCP’s Triple Threat Education Program features training in ballet, musical theater, tap, hip-hop, jazz, modern, and acting.  Preparing performers age 3 to adult as singer-dancer-actors, including boys and girls, men and women.  Registrations for the Summer Workshop (June 29-July 3) and for Fall Dance & Musical Theater Classes are Saturday, May 9th, 11:00am-2:00pm; and Sunday, June 7th, 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Playhouse in Studio A.  For details for dance, call Eldar Valiev, Dance Director, at 931-484-8710, ext 246, or (for theater) Nicole Begue, Director of Education, at ext 245.

 

Also playing in rotating rep at CCP is the Civil War musical  Shenandoah, sponsored by M. Stewart Galloway, M.D. Cumberland Eye Care; the award winning play On Golden Pond, sponsored by Dr. Stanley Bise, MD; and the family gospel musical Smoke on the Mountain, sponsored by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
