The Messenger. 12.31.08 The Obion County Public Library is reminding area residents they can take advantage of Mango languages software for online language instruction in Brazilian-Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Greek, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and ESL for Polish, Spanish and Brazilian-Portuguese speakers. Additional classes are being added, a spokesman said. Library patrons may use the software at the library or library cardholders may use the system online from the library’s Web page at www.oclibrary.org. These courses are free and they provide a unique comprehensive teaching approach that actively engages audio and visual cues to assist users in language retention, according to librarian Pat Thompson. For more information, contact Ms. Thompson at 885-7000.
