Completed arrangements are being announced for Thomas Alvin Blakemore, 89, of Dyer, formerly of Obion County, who died Dec. 29, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Ray Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-5 p.m. Thursday. He was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Obion County, son of the late Harvey Randolph and Lula (Darnell) Blakemore. He was a retired self-employed commercial contractor and was a Methodist. He is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Clara Hurt of McKinney, Texas, Odie Faulkner of South Fulton and Lollie and Robert Gray of Festus, Mo.; 16 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Melvin; and three brothers, Lester Blakemore, Billy Blakemore and Joe Blakemore.
