Loyal Titans’ fans
camp out for tix

NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee fans are camping outside the Titans’ stadium, waiting for the chance to buy a ticket for the team’s divisional playoff game.
About 3,500 tickets were to be available starting at 10 a.m. today. That’s about what is available for each home game at a stadium where the Titans have sold out 103 consecutive games since moving in for the 1999 season.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher said Monday that, fortunately, his team gave fans the chance to camp out a second time by winning home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Titans will have to win their divisional playoff game on Jan. 10. Then the Titans would host the AFC championship game for the first time ever.
Fisher says it’s a great reminder of the Titans’ great fan base and support.

UT Martin women
dropped by Rice

OXFORD, Miss. —  A career-high 16 points from Sienna Forney and Phyllisha Mitchell’s fifth double-double of the season were not enough for Tennessee-Martin women’s basketball team to knock off Rice in opening game of the Ole Miss Holiday Classic.
Rice used 20 points from Maudess Fulton en route to downing the Skyhawks 66-57 and dropping their record to 1-10 on the year.
Mitchell recorded 11 points and pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds to go along with Forney’s career night. Allison Wright also broke out of a recent shooting slump, connecting on three three-pointers in the game for nine points.
The Skyhawks will face Northwestern State at 4:30 this afternoon in Tad Smith Coliseum.
