The Messenger. 12.29.08 Thelma Carol Covington, 72, of South Fulton died 7:24 a.m. Dec. 26, 2008, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton. Services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday at South Fulton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. H.B. Fields officiating. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton was in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to South Fulton United Methodist Church at 205 Orchard Drive, South Fulton, TN 38257. She was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Fulton, daughter of the late James Milton and Ada Belle (Roach) Counce. She was the widow of Virgil Covington, who died Nov. 12, 2002. She was a homemaker who had lived in this area all her life and was a lifelong member of South Fulton United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jimmy Greer of South Fulton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Kerri Covington of South Fulton and Neal and Kelly Covington of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Carmen Barclay, Adam Greer, Reed Covington, Counce Covington, Josiah Covington and Brianna Covington; her great-granddaughter, Caroline Barclay; her brother, James Milton Counce Jr. of Dyersburg; and her sister, Peggy Nace of Jackson.
