Buddy Autry and Melissa Bailey | | Melissa Bailey and Gene “Buddy” Autry, both of Ripley, are pleased to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The bride-elect is the daughter of Richard and Kay Bailey of Ripley. Her grandparents are Dewey and Mamie Dowell and Frazier Bailey, all of Ripley, and the late Bettye Bailey. Miss Bailey is a 2005 graduate of Ripley High School. She will graduate in May 2009 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Glenda Autry of Brownsville and the late Gene Autry of Sharon. His grandparents are Martha Simpson of Ripley and the late Wilson Simpson and the late H.B. and Frances Autry of Sharon. Autry is a 2005 graduate of Ripley High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business in 2008 from UT Martin. He is currently employed at Ross Manufacturing Co. in Brownsville. The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m., Jan. 3, at Whitefield Assembly of God in Ripley. A reception will follow at Rolling Hills Country Club in Ripley. All friends and family are invited.
