The West Tennessee Golden Circle Chapter of APICS — Advancing Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success: The Association for Operations Management — in conjunction with Jackson State Community College has announced Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) education courses and certification.
The next class will be Module 2: Master Planning of Resources, which will explore processes used to develop sales and operations plans and learn to identify and assess internal and external demand and forecasting requirements.
The course focuses on the importance of producing achievable master schedules that are consistent with business policies, objectives and resource constraints.
Since 1973, the CPIM program has educated more than 75,000 manufacturing professionals on essential terminology, concepts and strategies related to demand management, procurement and supplier planning, materials management planning, capacity requirements planning, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, performance measurements, supplier relationships, quality control and continuous improvement.
A CPIM education is essential for professionals involved in production and inventory management, operations, supply chain management, procurement, materials management or purchasing, a spokesman said.
The registration deadline for the Jackson State classes is Jan. 14. Classes begin Jan. 20 and will meet every Tuesday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. through Feb. 24.
