Miss Maher, Olexa to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Rebecca Ann Maher and Eric Marshall Olexa are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Donna Ringwald of St. Charles, Mo., and Gary Maher of Belleville, Ill. Her grandparents are Don and Jean Seibel of St. Louis and Guy and Helen Maher of St. Charles. She is a 1998 graduate of Ritenour High School, where she was cheerleader, active in theater and a vocal member of the traveling group Highest Praise. She is a 2002 graduate of Lambuth University in Jackson with a bachelor of science degree in human performance. While in college, she played on the Lady Eagles softball team. In May, she graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene. She is employed in Memphis as a hygienist. The groom-elect is the son of Paul and Joy Olexa of Union City. His grandparents are the late Everette Boyd of Water Valley, Ky., the late Howard and Helen Barber Wells of South Fulton and the late Paul and Josephine Olexa of Neffs, Ohio. He is a 1995 graduate of Union City High School and received a bachelor of science degree in sports medicine, a BSRN in nursing and a Master’s of Nursing Anesthesia from Union University in Jackson. While at Union, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and Union University’s Bulldogs baseball team for four years. He is employed at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. The couple will wed at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Collierville United Methodist Church, located at 454 West Poplar Ave. A reception will follow at Woodland Hills, located at 10,000 Woodland Hills Road in Cordova.
