The Messenger. 12.22.08 John Delbert Stewart, 90, of Martin died Dec. 21, 2008, at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, with burial following there in Good Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today and on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of services. He was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Weakley County, son of the late John T. and Annie (Maupin) Stewart. He was the widower of Mozelle (Phifer) Stewart and was a retired employee of the former Volunteer General Hospital in Martin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had lived at his home for the past 14 years. Survivors include his son, Ted Stewart of Martin; four grandchildren, Todd Stewart of Latham, Shawn Stewart of Union City, Tammy Dunday of Martin and Mike Roberts of Dukedom; and eight great-grandchildren.
