Ruth Darnall Pakish, 72, of Tiptonvile died Dec. 17, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Ridgely, with burial following in Lake Memorial Gardens in Tiptonville.

The Rev. David Gray will officiate and pallbearers will be Brant Black, Albert Moore, Hunter Walker, John Perkins, Jason Perkins, Jeramy Eberst, Jake Yoes, Roy Williams and Chuck Archie. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Gooch, Alex Hays, Sam Hays, Jackson Hopper, Danny Gooch, Billy Jim Gooch, Bradley Gooch, Richard Kent Hunter, Bob Hunter, John Cochran and Jeramy Eberst Jr.

Friends may call at the church 5:30-8 p.m. today.

Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Ridgely, First United Methodist Church in Ridgely, First Baptist Church in Dyersburg or the charity of the donor’s choice.

She was the widow of George Pakish and was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a retired river boat cook for Western Kentucky Navigation.

Survivors include two daughters and her son-in-law, Monica and Bob Shull of Ridgely and Monette Perkins of Tiptonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Judy Hickman of Dyersburg and Pete and Kay Miller of Alamo; her stepdaughter and her husband, Fran and Bob Bauer of Donora, Pa.; her stepson and his wife, Joseph and Christy Pakish of Monessen, Pa.; three sisters, Margaret Hunter of Big Sandy, Jean Spann of Smyrna and Barbara Hanks of Tiptonville; three brothers, Cecil Gooch of Tiptonville, Jimmy Gooch of Hornbeak and Roger Dale Gooch of Shawtown community; and eight grandchildren, Amy Hickman, John Paul Perkins, Jason Perkins, Jeramy Eberst, Laura Shull, Leah (Shull) Yoes, Michelle Nance and Shauna Miller.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Thelma Gooch; her brother, Frank Gooch; and her stepson, George Pakish Jr.
