Lawrence Wilson Brinkley, 80, of Union City died Dec. 18, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Dec. 15 in Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Satur-day at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jimmy Brown and Mickey Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Bobby La-fever, Bobby Calhoun, Joe Hill, Don Gray, Claude Cranford Jr. and Lynn Treece. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bible Sunday School Class of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church No. 2 and Tommy Craft and Harry Sublett.
The family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association, in care of Mrs. John P. Cloar, 2284 Pleasant Hill Road, Rives, TN 38253; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Obion County, son of the late Leonard B. and Emma Lee (Osborne) Brinkley. He married the former Mozelle Calhoun July 5, 1952. She survives. He was a retired employee of the Obion County Highway Department and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church No. 2.
Survivors also include his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Russell Hilton of Woodland Mills; his granddaughter and her husband, Laura and Terry Hughes of Paducah, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, John Robert Hughes of Paducah and Audrey Wright of Woodland Mills; and his sister-in-law, Reba Brinkley of Rives.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lisa Hilton; his brother, Horace Brinkley; and his sister, Johnnie Lafever.
