Velverly Carol King Poore, 50, of Palmersville, formerly of Hickman, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris. Services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, with Bro. Billy Uzzle officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery, Dresden. Shannon Cashion, Chris Cashion, Gary Walters, Bill Jackson and Scott Anderson served as pallbearers. Mrs. Poore was born in Hickman, Ky., the daughter of Billy Joe and Martha Callahan King of Palmersville. She was the widow of William “Willie” D. Poore and was a forklift operator at Parker-Hannifin Corp. in Greenfield. Survivors also include two daughters, Markena Jo Walters of Palmersville and Valerie Marie Ashley of Gleason; one son, Robert (Sabrina) Nelson Jr. of Dresden; four sisters, Vickie L. Mansfield and Evelyn N. Johnson, both of Palmersville, Lisa F. James of Dresden and Tammie L. Worrell of Sharon; three brothers, Billy Joe King Jr. and Barry King, both of Palmersville, and Carl N. King of Hickman, Ky.; her grandmother, Velvet Callahan of Martin; and six grandchildren. wcp 12-18-08
