R.B. Hollie, 83 , of Union City died Dec. 15, 2008, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Virgil Hale officiating and Richard Gill assisting. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak.

Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

He was born May 21, 1925, in Obion County, son of the late Rufus Hollie and the late Ludie (Hopper) Hollie James.

He married the former Imogene Sullivan May 23, 1942. She survives. He was a farmer and a member of Berea Church of Christ.

He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Elton Thomason of Union City and Jackie and Jim Rayburn of Mahomet, Ill.; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sherry Hollie of Cottage Grove; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey D. Hollie of Oklahoma City, Okla., Laura Renea Mock and John Hollie, both of Sandersville, Ga., Brian Hollie of Mumford, Kimberly Fulcher of Martin, Dr. Mike King of Jackson, Mark King of Fort Smith, Ark., Jamie Pruitt and Jessica Dyer, both of Mahomet, and Jennifer Rayburn of Fort Campbell, Ky.; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Viola Smith of Palmersville and Ethel Poarch of Fayetteville.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, J.W. Raimey, Jesse James, Andrew James and Thomas James; and his sister, Viola Payne.
