MEMPHIS (AP) — The famed Peabody Ducks have a new rooftop home. The new Royal Duck Palace, replacing one 23 years old, took three months to build and cost $200,000. Their new digs include granite floors, ceiling fans and a replica of the Peabody hotel. Ducks have lived at the downtown hotel for 75 years. The five current North American mallard ducks march from the roof to the lobby every day at 11 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. During the day, they swim around a fountain in the main foyer.
