This holiday season don’t miss A Sanders Family Christmas and White Christmas at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN. A Sanders Family Christmas is sponsored by Cumberland County Bank through December 20th and White Christmas sponsored by M. Stewart Galloway, MD/Cumberland Eye Care through December 21st. First seen at the Playhouse as one of three nationwide premieres chosen by the authors, Alan Bailey and Connie Ray, A Sanders Family Christmas, adds Christmas selections to the feast of gospel bluegrass that Smoke and the Sanders family is known for. The multi-talented cast of actor-musicians features Jason Ross as Reverend Oglethorpe, and the Sanders family played by Lauren Marshall, Tommy Hancock, Summer Dawn Wallace, Daniel Black, and Richard Daniel as Uncle Stanley . Anne Staler plays sister June, who uses American Sign Language (and some signs of her own invention!) to interpret songs and testimony. White Christmas is based on the beloved film, and features seventeen Irving Berlin songs. With Nathaniel Hackmann (“Some Enchanted Evening” in South Pacific) now playing singer Bob Wallace, and New York singer/dancer Craig Blake as his song and dance act partner Phil Davis, just after World War II. The dazzling score features Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and of course, White Christmas. Also at the Playhouse December 4th-8th is The Nutcracker sponsored by Hughes Real Estate Services. Tickets are at the Playhouse Box Office at (931) 484 – 5000 with details online at www.ccplayhouse.com. Posted 12.4.08
