Golden Living Center in Union City has announced the following activities for Dec. 5-13. Friday: Coffee will be served in the main dining room at 9:30 a.m. At 10, a game of basketball will be offered to the residents. A Christmas card mail-out will be held with the residents in the main dining area at 2 p.m. Saturday: Activities of individual choice will be per resident council request from 7-9 a.m. At 10, Shepherd’s Field Church of Martin will visit and host a Christmas singing. Residents will play a game of stories from the hat at 2 p.m. Sunday: Baptist Temple of Union City will visit and hold Sunday School at 10 a.m. At 3:30, Bishop Street Church of Christ of Union City will visit and provide evening services. Monday: The beauty shop will be open all day, with services being provided by Metta Sisk of Union City. One-on-one visits will be offered to the residents by volunteers and the activity department from 7-9 a.m. A New Beginning with Reelfoot Baptist Church will visit and hold services with the residents in the main dining area from 9:30-11 a.m. Afternoon singing and Bible study will be held with Samburg Pentecostal Church and Union City Assembly of God Church from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday: At 9:30 a.m., the coffee club will meet. The facility’s arts and crafts class will meet at 10:30. At 1:30 p.m., popcorn will be served to the residents and staff in the main dining area. A Christmas bingo auction will be offered to the residents by Geri Barber of Union City at 2. At 7, Terry Phillips of Union City will visit and hold a singing and devotional with the residents. Wednesday: The coffee and news club will meet at 9:30 a.m. At 10, Jean Jackson of Union City will offer a reading of “Crossroads” to the residents. A Dancersize class will be given in the main dining area at 1 p.m. At 2, an aroma therapy group, offering the smells of Christmas, will be provided in the north dayroom. Reelfoot Baptist Church of Union City will visit and host a Christmas party and celebration with the residents at 7. Dec. 11: Metta Sisk of Union City will provide beauty shop services. At 9 a.m, the Coffee Club will meet. Exchange Street Church of Christ of Union City will visit and provide Bible study at 10. At 1:30 p.m., Geri Barber will host a game of bingo. The facility will hold an open house with “pictures with Santa” at 5. At 5:30, Sandra’s School of Dance will visit and provide entertainment to the residents. A Girl Scout troop from Kenton will visit and provide Christmas carols to the residents at 6:30. Dec. 12: At 9:30 a.m., coffee will be served in the main dining room. The residents will play “Name that Tune” at 10:30. At 1:30 p.m., residents will be treated to a game of “ball toss” in the dining area. The Drama Club will help ready the dining area for an evening show at 2. At 6:30, an evening of entertainment will be provided by “The Imposters.” Dec. 13: At 10 a.m., Dennis Quinn of Hornbeak will visit and provide Saturday morning Bible study.
