With the digital television transition less than three months away, WLJT’s digital programming will move from 18 to 24 hours per day on Monday.

WLJT-TV/DT, Channel 11, one of Tennessee’s first digital public stations, has been broadcasting to digital television sets for nearly four years. The digital television technology allows WLJT to broadcast three different programs simultaneously with greatly improved picture and sound quality.  The first digital channel (11-1) broadcasts WLJT’s primary programming. The second channel (11-2) features WLJT World, focusing on news, public affairs and documentaries. The third digital channel (11-3) is WLJT’s High Definition programming.  High Definition is the best picture quality available.

The nationwide digital transition, when all television stations will broadcast in digital only, is Feb. 17. After the transition, WLJT’s primary programming will be broadcast on the High Definition channel (11-3).
