Miss Cook, Easley to wed

  The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Sarah Steele Cook and Benjamin Kyle Easley, both of Dallas, are being announced today.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David M. Cook of Lakeland, Fla. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Williams of Lakeland and Dr. Ian H. and the late Ruth Witmer Cook of Fort Wayne, Ind.

She is a 2005 graduate of Harrison School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland and plans to graduate from Southern Methodist University in May with degrees in dance performance and corporate communications and public affairs. She is employed by Resident Life and Student Housing at SMU and the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts, having recently served as student consultant to the prestigious Dance Theater of Harlem in New York. 

The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Easley of Union City. He is the grandson of the late Benton O. and Doris N. McDaniel of Camden and George R. and the late Betty Rives Easley of Union City.

He is a 2005 graduate of Union City High School and plans to graduate from Southern Methodist University in May with degrees in music and political science. A Dean’s Scholar and Hilltop Ambassador, he is employed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at SMU and Trinity Church Dallas, serving as president of Victory Campus Ministries. He plans to attend law school in fall 2009.

The couple will exchange vows at 7 p.m. May 23 in the Heritage Chapel of First Baptist Dallas. A reception will follow in the Skyline Ballroom of the Doubletree Campbell Centre.
