By DEB RIECHMANN Associated Press Writer FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) — President George W. Bush was at Fort Campbell in Kentucky today thanking troops for their service and had lunch with about 150 soldiers, many of them just back from Iraq and Afghanistan. “Job well done,” Bush told about 7,500 military personnel and others packed in a hangar on a chilly morning two days before Thanksgiving. So far in November, 10,000 soldiers have returned to Fort Campbell from Iraq and Afghanistan. Thousands of others, though, are getting ready to deploy. He told them: “You have taken the battle against the terrorists overseas so we do not have to face them here in the United States.” Published in The Messenger 11.25.08
