Steven Alan “Steve” Williams, 45, of Union City died Nov. 24, 2008, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Bobby Williams and the Rev. Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Old Republican Cemetery near Union City.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Ransom, Shane McDaniel, Jimmy Hawkins, Glenn Griffin, Larry Ransom and Bobby Ransom.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Babb, Mike Mathenia, Keith Ransom, Donovan Ransom, Jeff Goad, Lonnie Witt, Charlie Lee and Tim Williams.
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born Aug. 19, 1963, in Obion County, son of James Edwin and Sylvia Jean (Ransom) Williams of Union City. He had been employed at Clark’s Distributing in Dyersburg, where he was a mechanic, and he was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church near Union City.
He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Joan Williams, Shirley Gwaltney, J.D. Williams, Bobby and Nadine Ransom, Larry and Sharon Ransom and Mike and Jane McDaniel, all of Union City; and Elva Jean Victory of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Becie and Stella Ransom and Joe Dow and Sally Williams; his uncles, L.T. Ransom, Elmer Ransom, Elbert Ransom and Willard Ransom; and his aunts, Barbara Green, Frances Campbell and Lela Hawkins.
