|Hillcrest had a pre-Thanksgiving feast on the hardwood Monday evening. |
The Lady Cougars indulged themselves in a 45-19 thumping of Black Oak to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Meanwhile, in the nightcap, the Hillcrest boys carved up a 62-37 drubbing of BO.
In other junior high basketball action on Monday evening, Ridgemont took a pair at Rutherford with the girls victorious 48-32 and the boys on the right side of a 47-35 final.
Lake County swept Lake Road to take the season series with the boys winning 53-32 and the Lady Falcons 57-23 victors.
And Union City’s girls blasted Northview 41-15, while the local boys fell 54-48.
Hillcrest sweeps Black Oak
Kelsey Gibson and Tory Reedy both offered up a dozen points to pace the Lady Cougars in their lopsided win at Hornbeak.
For the Lady Eagles (0-6), Ashlynn Hamm led the way with eight points, while Abby Blackburn pulled down seven rebounds.
During the boys’ game, Bryan Morris poured in a game-high 22 points, while Camden Napper also reached double digits with 10 for Hillcrest (2-3).
The Eagles (0-6) got a diversified stat sheet from Blake Rudd, who finished with 16 points, four steals and four assists.
RM puts Pirates on plank
The Lady Mustangs improved their record to 5-1 with Monday’s 16-point win over R’ford.
Billie Preuett led the charge for the Ridgemont girls with 17 points, while Paige Hicks also reached double digits with 13.
In the nightcap, Brett Burress was the top performer for the 3-3 Mustangs with 16 points.
Lake Co. drowns LR
The Generals trailed 14-6 after one quarter, before pulling with a basket 22-20 at halftime.
However, LC powered ahead in the season half with a 36-29 advantage after three and the ultimate 21-point decision.
Shaw Logan and Austin Carter both pitched in 11 for Lake Road (4-2).
In the girls’ matchup, Hannah Woodruff was the leading lady with eight points for the Lady Generals (2-4).
UC split at Northview
Amber Fair finished two steals short of a triple-double with 14 points, 18 rebounds and eight snatches for Union City (5-3) during Monday’s beating of the Lady Mustangs.
In the nightcap, Kheric Brooks totaled 18 points and six steals for the Twisters (6-2).
The Union City squads next see action on Dec. 4 at Three Oaks.
