Noah Gilbert “Bert” Jones Jr., 86, of Martin, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at his residence. Services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Tate officiating. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville. Members of Martin City Lodge No. 551 served as honorary pallbearers. Jones was born June 24, 1922, in Knoxville, son of the late Noah Gilbert Jones Sr. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, a retired pipe fitter for Robert Shaw Construction, member of First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Martin Masonic Lodge No. 551. He was the widower of Kellie Frances Corlew Jones. Survivors include three sons, Noah Gilbert Jones III of St. Louis, Mo., David M. Jones of Bradford and Donnie R. Jones of Southaven, Miss.; and11 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the National Wildlife Federation. Web site: wcp 11-18
