FFA CONVENTION — Members of the Obion County and South Fulton FFA Chapters recently attended National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. Among those attending were (first row) Victoria Bye, (second row, from left) Tomi Johansen, Chantel Montgomery, (third row) Whitney Jimerson, Ashleigh Burton, Rob Holman, Olivia Grady, Chelsie Darnell, (fourth row) Honorary American Degree recipient Roger Roehrig, Dustin Walker, Taylor Ervin, Mason Shumate, Nick Wilson, Jason Johnson and South Fulton Chapter FFA advisor Bryant Driver. While at the convention, the group took advantage of several educational tours offered by surrounding area agriculturists, including Tuttle Orchards, Kelsay Dairy Farms, Carley Elk Farms and Conner Prairie Museum. “Not only was this an educational experience, but it was also an opportunity for the group to receive FFA awards and to be inspired by motivational speakers, national officers and other prominant leaders in America,” a spokesman said, adding, “Agriculture is very much alive in every city, county and state in this great country of ours. The FFA is a place for all youth to learn, excel and promote leadership through excellance. Please support your local agriculture education programs and the FFA.” Published in The Messenger 11.18.08
