Cara Thomas to perform saxophone recital

Cara Thomas, of Martin, will present her senior saxophone recital at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 24, in the Harriet Fulton Theatre in the Fine Arts Building on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin. Thomas will perform a variety of pieces ranging from classical to jazz. She will play a Japanese piece called “Night Bird” for saxophone and electronics, as well as the “Glazounov Concerto” for saxophone and piano. The jazz portion of the recital will feature “+8,” a piece for tenor saxophone and drum set (played by Cory Bozard, of Bells) and a sonata by jazz composer and arranger, Phil Woods. Delana Easley, lecturer of music, will accompany Thomas on piano. This event will be free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Department of Music at 881-7402.wcp 11-18
