The Messenger. 11.13.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for Sally (Clark) Sturkie, 71, of Union City. She died 8:45 a.m. Nov. 12, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Dilday Funeral Home in Union City, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Leggett. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Joe Ward, Josh Long, Josh Brown, Randy Chism and Chris Tidwell. She was born Jan. 7, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl Edwin and Florence (Wostenholm) Clark. She married Henry Davis Sturkie III May 27, 1956. He died June 23, 2004. She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Texgas Propane Co. in Union City and was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Brad Grisham of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kim Sturkie of Union City and Henry Sturkie IV and Sherrie Sturkie of Martin; seven grandchildren, Brandi Grisham, Cameron Grisham and Erica Sturkie, all of Union City, Candace Sturkie and Travis Sturkie, both of Troy, and Bethany Walters and Bentlee Walters, both of Martin; her sister, Barbara C. Milliken of Hunstville, Ala.; and her brother, Earl E. Clark Jr. of Auburn, Ala. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack E. Clark and Gordon D. Clark.
