The Messenger. 11.13.08 Carnie A. Roper, 73, of Clinton, Ky., died Nov. 11, 2008, at his home. He was the brother of Jeanette Jones of Union City. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton, with the Revs. Charles Blair and Bill Amberg officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman (Ky.) City Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Hickman County Senior Citizens, 217 1/2 West Clay St., Clinton, KY 42031. He was a retired employee of Deena and had been a truck driver. He was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church. Survivors also include his wife, Paula (Robertson) Roper; three daughters and his son-in-law, Debbie and Joel Ferguson of Clinton, Becky Crowe of Lexington, Tenn., and Karen Roper of Paducah, Ky.; his son, Allen Roper of Clinton; another sister, Verle Halterman of Evansville, Ind.; his brother, Gerald Roper of Hickman; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert “Max” and Mary (Mills) Roper; his son, Tommie Roper; and his brother and three sisters, including two who died as infants.
