The Messenger. 11.11.08 Richard N. Johnston, 93, of Fulton died 1:10 a.m. Nov. 9, 2008, at his home. Services were set for 1 p.m. today at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Revs. Von Unruh and David Bayer officiating. Burial was to follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Water Valley, Ky. The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 Carr St., Fulton, KY 42041. He was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Fulton County, Ky., son of the late J.W. and Myrtie (Ferguson) Johnston. He was married to Mable (Brown) Johnston, who survives, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II. He was a retired accountant who had worked for the federal government and had moved to this area from St. Louis in 1989. He was a member of Fulton First United Methodist Church and the Fulton Lions Club. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Online tributes may be left at www.hornbeakfuneralchapel.com.
