Dr. Bradley G. Coker, assistant professor of low brass and music education, will present a faculty tuba recital titled “Song and Dance” at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Harriet Fulton Theatre on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin.
He will perform in collaboration with staff accompanist Delana Easley, lecturer of music.
This recital will feature original works for the tuba and transcriptions of pieces written for voice or other instruments. Music by Roger Kellaway, Elizabeth Raum, Johannes Brahms, Erlend Skomsvoll, Øystein Baadsvik and Ástor Piazzolla will allow the audience to experience both the song-and-dance-like qualities of the tuba.
The event will be free and open to the public. For more information, contact Coker at (731) 881-7401.
