Sarah Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holt of Rives, has been awarded a scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin, according to Judy Rayburn, director of admissions.
A junior, she received the Tom and Patti Wade Scholarship.

Will Camacho of Troy was among 18 new members recently inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Alpha chapter of Phi Theta Kappa academic honorary society at Dyersburg State Community College.
The ceremony was held at Dyersburg State’s Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County and the induction was led by chapter president Rachel Clark. Sharon Hudson, DSCC instructor in biology and an alumna of the chapter, spoke on the society’s hallmarks: scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.
A reception followed.
To be eligible for membership in the honor society, students must have maintained a B average or higher and have completed 12 hours of college work.
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor society in American higher education with 1,200 chapters on two-year and community college campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, the Republic of Palau, the British Virgin Islands and U.S. territorial possessions.
