The Messenger. 11.04.08 James Archie “Jimmie” Phillips, 76, of South Fulton died Nov. 3, 2008, at Jackson’s Regional Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with burial following in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Dr. Ron Cox will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening. Pallbearers will be Keith Cochran, Tommy Hundley, Larry Isbell, Jimmy Allen, Gerald Nanney, David Wisener, Gary Grooms and Keith Forrester. He was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Obion County, son of the late Archie Ewing and Flora Belle (Isbell) Phillips. He married the former Joyce Ann Hopkins Aug. 31, 1974. She survives. He was a retired electrician and a member of South Fulton Baptist Church and the IBEW Local 1925. He is also survived by two sons and his daughter-in-law, Dwight Phillips of Rives and Dwaine and Lisa Phillips of Humboldt; his stepdaughter, Lisa Ann Lee of Dayton, Ohio; two stepsons and his daughter-in-law, Billy Lewis and Debbie Hamlin of Corinth, Miss., and Bobby Hamlin of South Fulton; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Ewing and Marjorie Phillips of Clinton; five grandchildren, Jeana Beth Andrews of Hendersonville, Julie Phillips and Justin Phillips, both of Rives, and Tucker Phillips and Avery Phillips, both of Humboldt; two step-grandchildren, Charlie Brook Hamlin of South Fulton and Chad Hamlin of Corinth; two great-grandsons, Phillip Andrews and Pryce Andrews, both of Hendersonville; two step-great-grandchildren, Skyler Hamlin and Logan Hamlin, both of Corinth; his niece, Gail Newsom of Union City; and three nephews, Keith Cochran of Union City and Dr. Darryl Phillips and Dr. Jason Phillips, both of Knoxville.
