|There will be a playoff dinner at Union City High School Thursday night at 6:30 at which fans can sponsor a particular Tornado player and share a steak dinner meal with that player before listening to a guest speaker. |
The event is to allow the community a chance to share a meal with any member of the Tornado team. Any fan and/or parent may sponsor a player, and cost of the meal is $20 each for both the sponsor and the player.
Parents do not have to sponsor their own child.
The dinner is not a fund-raiser, with the $20 per-plate charge going entirely towards the cost of the meal, according to the even organizers. The dinner will be held at the commons area at Union City High School.
Tammy Sparks is handling the particulars at UCHS, and may be reached by calling 885-2373 (Ext. 23). Deadline to sign up is Wednesday by 2 p.m.
Plans are for similar dinners to be held every week that the Tornadoes remain alive in the postseason.
