Electricity. Exuberance. Virtuosity. All will come together on November 20th at Cumberland County Playhouse, starting at 8:00 PM CST, when piano phenomenon Mac Frampton brings his show to Crossville. “Frampton plays with the flash of Liberace and the fun of Victor Borge, with a little southern accent” states CCP Concert Administrator Buster Irvin. His production, Concert Grand, will feature musical millstones spanning two centuries composed for the concert grand piano. Wherever he appears, Frampton’s show thrills and mesmerizes audiences, finally bringing them to their feet. Since the early Seventies, Mac Frampton has performed over 3000 concerts all over the globe. He has been soloist with many of the great orchestras, including the Boston Pops, Cincinnati Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony. He has teamed up with the likes of Bill Cosby, Glen Campbell, Roberta Flack, and Ray Charles. While every Mac Frampton performance has its own unique character, the Playhouse audience can expect to her such wide ranging standards as Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue, Irving Berlin’s I Love A Piano, and Billy Joel’s Piano Man. Additionally, Mac will play tribute to the piano’s place in the world of Southern Gospel and its pivotal role in cinema, illustrated by such themes as My Heart Will Go On from Titanic. Mac always includes his audience in the programming, taking requests from the stage and magically creating a “composition” based on the often eclectic material requested. His Request Medley is a career signature and without a doubt the most widely appreciated aspect of his performances. Also showing at the Playhouse is: Crowns, sponsored by Wyndham Resorts at Fairfield Glade; A Sanders Family Christmas, sponsored by Cumberland County Bank; and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, sponsored by M. Stewart Galloway, MD Cumberland Eye Care. Tickets can be purchased from the Playhouse Box Office at 931-484-5000.
