William Cazz Greenup, 79, of Dresden, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Hillview Community Living Center. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Terrell and the Rev. David Worley officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Members of Martin City Lodge No. 551 will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Roberts, Ricky Wilson, Bryan Rich, Tom Butts, Bobby Barr and Mark Maddox. Greenup was born May 30, 1929, in Gibson County, son of the late William “Jack” Luther Greenup and Lena Katherine Gartrell Greenup. He was a truck driver and retired mechanic for Volunteer Express, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Martin City Lodge No. 551, a Shriners, member of American Legion Post No. 94 and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Dresden. Survivors include his wife, Carol Travis Greenup of Dresden; one son, Steve (Dorothy) Greenup of Nashville; one daughter, Debbie (Clay) Goudy of Oakland; one sister, Martha Nell Arnold of Borger, Texas; five grandchildren, Jeremy Greenup, Kyle Greenup, Brian Goudy, Chad Goudy and Melanie Dial; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey Dial, Kayla Goudy, Jayden Goudy and Ethan Greenup. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Bessie Kate Greenup; and four brothers, W.A. “Bill” Greenup, Paul “Pee Wee” Greenup, Claude “Tom” Greenup and James Greenup. Web site: wcp 10-28-08
