William Russell Cruce Sr., 85, of the Cayce (Ky.) community died Oct. 28, 2008, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Cemetery near South Fulton, with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating.
Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home 5-8 this evening.
Pallbearers will be Charles Brown, Justin Brown, Morgan Cruce, Jeffery Peoples, James Cruce, Thomas Cruce and Doyle Cruce.
He was born March 25, 1923, in Obion County, son of the late Richard and Maude (Burns) Cruce. He was a retired dairy farmer and had worked for 40 years in the Cayce community. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha Frances Cruce and Peggy Chessor, both of Fulton, and Mary Stroud of Paris; four sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Carla Cruce of Union City, Rusty and Linda Cruce of Rives, Danny Cruce of Russell Springs, Ky., and Richard Cruce of Paris; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Will D. Cruce of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
