MEMPHIS (AP) — A blast of cold air could end the growing season in much of Tennessee and has caused the National Weather Service to post a freeze watch.
Forecasters say the frigid air is being forced southward by a strong Canadian high pressure area that’s building.
The Weather Service says temperatures at or below 32 degrees are expected early Tuesday from the Mississippi River eastward across the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee.
Forecasters said Wednesday morning temperatures could be even colder, dipping into the mid-20s in some places.
