Drug-related charges were filed against two people from Trimble during a traffic stop Sunday evening in Union City.
Robert Shane Perry, 33, and Jean Nicole Quinn, 29, both of 367 Grays Road, Trimble, were arrested after Union City police stopped Perry’s vehicle for an alleged window tint violation about 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of Everett Boulevard, according to Union City Police Department reports.
Perry was charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) and Ms. Quinn was charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.
During the traffic stop, in which the officer initially made contact with the driver, identified as Perry, the officer reported he was able to detect “a very strong odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle. The officer reported he asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and began inquiring about whether there was any marijuana inside the vehicle.
Police reported the passenger, identified as Ms. Quinn, was smoking a marijuana cigarette when the vehicle was stopped and, while the officer was talking with the driver, allegedly was hiding a baggy that contained marijuana inside the vehicle console.
A search of the vehicle yielded a clear baggy containing what appeared to be marijuana in the bottom of the console, as well as a marijuana cigarette believed to be Ms. Quinn’s from inside the glove box and a box of rolling papers, according to the reports.
