FALL CRAFTS — Each month, the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H program team up and provide workshops for children in grades K-4. These workshops provide students with vital life skills such as independence, self-esteem, how to work well with others and the ability to think creatively. September’s workshop celebrated Fall. During this workshop, youth created scarecrow decorations and decorated handy dry erase boards with pumpkins, leaves and a scarecrow. Volunteers helping during the workshop included Nancy Davis, Marissa Howard, Jessica Crackel and Elizabeth Acevedo. The next workshop will be held Oct. 22. Pre-registration is required and anyone interested may do so by contacting children’s librarian Michele Barnes at the Obion County Public Library at 885-7000. Participants included (front, from left) Martin Acevedo, Selena Acevedo, Carol Anne Clanton, Kailey Long, (middle) Brady Vickery, Ben Clanton, Madelyn Hogan, Anna Bright, Victoria Rose Cochran, (back) Senior High 4-Her Jessica Crackel and Junior High 4-Hers Elizabeth Acevedo, Nancy Davis and Marissa Howard.
