DYERSBURG (AP) — A grand jury will hear charges against a former northwest Tennessee doctor who was a recent candidate for the state Legislature. Special city court judge Jason Creasy sent the case involving Rosaire Michael Dubrule, 60, to the grand jury as a result of Dubrule’s arrest June 6. He is charged with felony evading arrest, reckless driving, resisting arrest and violation of the implied consent law. He ran unsuccessfully in August for the 77th House District seat that represents Obion and Lake counties and part of Dyer County. Dubrule operated a medical clinic in Tiptonville until 2004. He already faces federal prescription fraud charges from a 2007 incident and is to appear in federal court in Memphis Dec. 18 in that case. Dubrule’s attorney, Cynthia Chandler-Snell of Humboldt, argued in the latest case that Dubrule used bad judgment while driving but may not have understood he was being arrested. ———— Information from: State Gazette, www.stategazette.com Published in The Messenger 10.14.08
