From now until Dec. 14, the Animal Rescue Site is giving away $100,000 in grants to participating Petfinder member shelter and rescue groups. Red Fern Animal Shelter in Dresden encourages friends to click to help rescued animals on The Animal Rescue Site, and then to vote every day. Clicking and voting is free for site visitors, but the right number of votes can mean as much as $25,000 for the winning shelter. To vote, go to www.theanimalrescuesite.com. First, click on “Click Here to Give – It’s Free!” This automatically donates food to shelter animals at no cost to you. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter Challenge.” Enter “Red Fern” in the shelter name and pick Tennessee from the state list. Then, cast your vote for Red Fern Animal Shelter. Red Fern Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter and rescue operating entirely on public donations. They currently have 60 dogs and cats awaiting adoption. All funding received will be used for spay/neuter, vaccinations and finding permanent homes for pets. In addition to voting, Red Fern urges you to spay and neuter your own pets to control animal overpopulation in Weakley County.
