Leroy Taylor, 83, of Martin died Oct. 5, 2008, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. He was the grandfather of Mrs. Dave (Amy) Frankum of Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin, with the Rev. Kenneth Springer officiating. Burial will follow there in East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Dave Frankum, Keith Ramsey, Phil Crowe, Sam Sims, Jimmy Kelly and Ken Kirkland.
He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Henry County, son of the late Edgar Lee and Louise (Lamb) Taylor. He was married to Margaret (Prince) Taylor, who survives, and was a retired supervisor at the Milan Arsenal. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Martin and had retired from the Tennessee National Guard. He was also a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 55.
Survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Pat Taylor of Martin; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and David Sims of Sharon; his brother, Robert Taylor of Martin; his sister, Mina Powers of Lansing, Mich.; three other grandchildren and their spouses, Beth and Keith Ramsey of Jackson, LeaAnn and Phil Crowe of Martin and Sam Sims of Sharon; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Kate Tuck and Ann Lawrence.
