Completed arrangements are being announced for Clarence F. Douglas, 86, of Water Valley, Ky., who died Oct. 5, 2008, at Parkway Regional Hospital emergency room in Fulton.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Jim Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Masonic services will be 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to Water Valley United Methodist Church, in care of Dianne Bennett, 1187 U.S. Highway 45, Water Valley, KY 42085; or American Heart Association, 240 Whittington Pkwy., Louisville, KY 40222-4904.
He was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Fulton County, Ky., son of the late John Thomas and Lossie Ruth (Byrd) Douglas. He was the widower of Nadine (DePriest) Douglas and was a retired farmer who had lived in Water Valley most of his life. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of Water Valley United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Water Valley Masonic Lodge 756 and the Fulton Chapter of the American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Douglas of Nashville; two sons and his daughter-in-law, Roger Douglas and David and Sue Douglas, all of Water Valley; his sister, Mary Enjar of Memphis; and his grandson, Zachary Crabtree of Paducah, Ky.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Crabtree; and three brothers, Lawrence Douglas, Paul Douglas and Doc Douglas.
