Captain D’s Seafood today is continuing the expansion of a brand new logo, as well as a robust, contemporary menu ranging from the great quality classic fried seafood D’s is known for to new grilled seafood and shrimp to quality pasta dishes.
The 600-unit restaurant chain is continuing its comprehensive expansion and rollout of a new seafood eating experience that started in August 2006, signaling a bold new course for the future, and it is happening in the reopening of the Union City restaurant.
Captain D’s franchise group Nufish LLC, under the operation of Joe Guido, joined by company officials and local dignitaries, officially cut the ribbon this morning to reopen the Union City site at 1421 West Reelfoot Ave.
The Union City Captain D’s will feature its new logo, which emphasizes the company’s core strength in seafood. The logo features a stylized fish beneath the company’s name with the words “seafood kitchen” across a blue ocean below.
“We believe our new logo represents our seafood expertise, fun and authentic, underpinned by high quality and value,” Captain D’s president David Head said. “The unique logo colors communicate tradition, freshness and warmth. The phrase ‘seafood kitchen’ is noteworthy, as well — supporting our goal to be a welcoming kitchen where an evolving, contemporary menu keeps delighting our customers.”
The new logo has been gradually rolling out to the restaurants in the form of packaging, in-restaurant point of sale materials and re-modeled restaurants since October 2006.
A new menu expansion rounds out the transformation. In addition to keeping the all-time traditional menu favorites like Captain D’s freshly-battered fish filets, breaded premium shrimp and deluxe seafood platter, the seafood kitchen will be cooking up a host of new grilled items. Guests can now choose from wild Alaskan salmon, tilapia, coastal flounder, shrimp skewers or chicken breast, grilled and seasoned to perfection. They can also select blackened seasoning with any grilled entrée, along with a choice of sides.
Pasta brings an infusion of old world-taste to the expanded menu as Shrimp Broccoli Alfredo, Chicken Broccoli Alfredo and Savory Shrimp Scampi pasta dishes are featured. Tender, savory shrimp and chicken classics are blended with delectable pasta to bring an old-world influence to the dining experience for those customers who prefer alternative eating options.
To cap off the menu expansion, Captain D’s continues to offer a choice of sides with any dinner or platter. These sides include such favorites as fries, cole slaw, baked potatoes, Southern-style green beans with ham, steamed broccoli, macaroni and cheese, roasted red potatoes, fried okra, side salads and corn on the cob.
“We are incredibly delighted to be bringing the D’s dining experience back to Union City under the leadership of franchise group Nufish and Joe Guido,” Head said.
Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D’s owns, operates and franchises over 600 restaurants in 26 states and the Caribbean, plus military bases around the world.
