The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will be distributing commodity foods from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, and Thursday, Oct. 9, at the agency central office, 231 S. Wilson St., Dresden. Recipients whose last names begin with A-K will receive commodities Wednesday, and those whose last names begin with L-Z will receive them Thursday. Please bring boxes. Everyone picking up commodities must have a green ID card. Applications will not be taken on the days that commodities are distributed. No numbers will be given out before 7 a.m. Commodity distribution is a first-come, first-serve based program. Because there may be a shortage of some foods, everyone may not receive the same number of items or some may receive a substitute item. For more information about the Commodity Food Program, contact Lottie Cooper, county service manager, at 364-2272, or at 231 S. Wilson St., Dresden. wcp 10-2-08
