Lucia M. Renzelli Amato, 87, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 in Heartland of Clarksburg, W.Va. The Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. today at All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport, W.Va., with Father Harry N. Cramer officiating. She will be buried in Long Island National Cemetery, N.Y., with Burnside Funeral Home of Bridgeport, W.Va., in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Amato was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Anmoore, W.Va., daughter of the late Julio and Maria Grandinetti Renzelli. She was the widow of Nicholas Andrew Amato, a member of All Saints Catholic Church and worked at Hills and Ace Hardware in West Virginia. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Victoria Lofaro of Martin; one son Nicholas (Diane) Amato of Setauket, N.Y.; two brothers, Philip “Kackie” (Annie) Renzelli of Bridgeport, W.Va. and William (Nancy) Renzelli of Anmoore, W.Va.; one sister, Loretta Renzelli Frederick of Anmoore, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Joe (Susan) Lofaro of Martin; Michael (Shelley) Lofaro, Nicky (Brandi) Lofaro, Gene (Sarah) Lofaro, Jennifer (Chuck) Machenheimer and Alex (Abi) Amato; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John Renzelli, Julio “Junior” Renzelli, Joseph Renzelli and Frank Renzelli; and two sisters, Violet Steele and Rose LoBianco.
