George Douglas Jackson, 36, of Martin died Sept. 29, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin, with the Rev. Danny Neal officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Foundation.
He was born March 11,1972, in Fulton, son of the late Alvie Franklin “Al” and Belva Ann (Wilson) Jackson, former residents of Union City. He was a 1990 graduate of Obion County Central High School in Troy and had been employed at H&O Tool & Dye in Union City for 12 years.
He married the former Jennifer Chapman June 10, 1999. She survives.
Survivors also include his son, Taylor Jackson of Martin; two stepsons, Matthew Melton and Joshua Melton, both of Martin; his daughter, Nichole Jackson of Martin; his brother, Paul Franklin Jackson of Union City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Trish (Jackson) and Mike Dial of Troy and Rhonda (Jackson) and Ed Bagwell of Union City; and several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
