Union City High School assistant football coach Wes Kennedy remains in stable condition as a patient in the Step-Down Burn Unit at The Med in Memphis.
Kennedy, who received chemical burns on 75 percent of his body in an accident at the Kellogg’s Company plant in Memphis last weekend, still has not received doctor’s orders as to how his injuries will be treated.
Kennedy’s wife, Teka, said this morning her husband had developed a fever that spiked at 104 degrees late Tuesday night, but it had subsided early today. Additionally, she said cultures were being run to determine if there was infection.
On a positive note, Mrs. Kennedy also said she was informed by a doctor that some of his second-degree burns had not worsened and had showed signs of healing.
Doctors were scheduled to meet with the family today.
UCHS players and the coaching staff will visit Kennedy Thursday afternoon.
